BRADENTON, Fla. — Aug. 19, 2025 — On behalf of Parenting Matters, Executive Director Katie Becker and Board Member Dr. Terra Ward, Manatee County assistant director of professional learning, announced today their endorsement of Dr. Laurie Breslin for superintendent of the School District of Manatee County.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BECKER: “Dr. Breslin understands that schools don’t exist in isolation — they thrive when families, educators and community partners work hand in hand,” said Katie Becker, executive director of Parenting Matters. “Her leadership has always reflected this belief, and she has consistently demonstrated the vision and integrity needed to guide Manatee County schools forward. As a former Parenting Matters board member, Laurie’s commitment to families is not abstract — it’s lived and proven. We are proud to stand with her in this next chapter.”

BOARD MEMBER WARD: “Dr. Breslin is an amazing leader. She has the experience and knowledge to move this district to an A-rated district!”
