At a recent Parenting Matters staff meeting, we had the privilege of welcoming a team member from Women’s Resource Center (WRC) to share more about the incredible services they offer in our community.

Our Parenting Educators are deeply committed to walking alongside families, not just through parenting education, but by helping connect them to the broader network of resources that strengthen stability and opportunity. Learning more about WRC’s work reinforced just how essential strong community partnerships are in creating lasting impact.

For more than four decades, Women’s Resource Center has served individuals and families throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties by providing tools for financial stability, career growth, emotional well-being, and personal empowerment. Their services include:

  • Career coaching and job readiness support
  • Financial education and budgeting guidance
  • Individual consultations and goal planning
  • Mental health counseling
  • Resource navigation and referrals
  • Workshops designed to build confidence and self-sufficiency

Many of the parents we serve are working to stabilize employment, manage household finances, rebuild confidence, or navigate major life transitions. Having a trusted partner like WRC means we can make warm-hand-off referrals, ensuring families receive specialized support while continuing their parenting journey with us.

This kind of collaboration strengthens outcomes for everyone involved. When families are supported emotionally, financially, and relationally, children benefit. Parents gain confidence. Stress decreases. Stability increases.

For Parenting Matters and others in the community, this is a great reminder: no single organization can meet every need. But together, we create a safety net that is stronger, smarter, and more responsive.
