Thanks to a generous gift from Drs. Ron Lennon and Randy Rentfro, three remarkable families will each receive the 2026 Rock Star Parent Award, along with a $350 gift in recognition of their hard work and progress.
Each year, our Parenting Educators nominate families who have demonstrated resilience, dedication, and a deep commitment to raising their children in loving, nurturing, and safe homes. Choosing just three is never easy. This year’s honorees embody courage, perseverance, and hope.
A Mother of Three, Learning in Real Time
When this young mother moved to the United States, she was determined to build a brighter future. Shortly after marrying, she found herself welcoming triplets, an unexpected and overwhelming blessing.
Without nearby family support, she and her husband navigated newborn life three times over. Through Parenting Matters, she immersed herself in learning about child development, routines, positive discipline, and the importance of self-care. She embraced structure, patience, and intentional parenting, and made sure her husband was an equal partner in the journey.
Today, she confidently honors each child’s unique personality while maintaining a loving, organized home. Friends and neighbors now turn to her for parenting advice. Her growth has been extraordinary, and her children are thriving because of it.
A Family Who Knows the Power of “Reset”
Parenting children with complex emotional needs requires extraordinary patience and commitment. This family understands that healing happens one day at a time.
Over the years, they have faced significant challenges, yet they remain steady, compassionate, and willing to start fresh – again and again. They have intentionally created an environment centered on stability, outdoor life, meaningful routines, and strong connections.
Their greatest strength? They refuse to give up. They understand that progress is not perfection; it’s perseverance. Their home is built on forgiveness, hope, and unconditional love.
A Mother Who Chose Change
She committed fully to personal growth: engaging in counseling, support groups, and parenting education. Through dedication and persistence, she restored stability in her home and strengthened her bond with her child.
Today, she is deeply involved in her son’s life, continues to apply the skills she has learned, and even volunteers to encourage other parents. Recently promoted at work, she reflects the confidence and resilience she has worked so hard to build.
