Impact Update
More Than a Holiday—A Moment of Belonging
Each year, our Holiday Adoption Program brings joy to families during a season that can otherwise feel heavy and uncertain. While gifts are often the most visible part of the program, the true impact runs much deeper, reaching not only children, but parents and caregivers as well.
For many of the families we serve, the holidays come with complicated emotions. Parents want to create magical moments for their children, yet often carry the quiet weight of feeling unable to do “enough.” The Holiday Adoption Program helps ease that burden, not by defining families by hardship, but by affirming their strength, effort, and love.
What makes this program especially meaningful is that it supports the whole family. Children receive thoughtfully chosen gifts that reflect who they are and what they enjoy. Parents and caregivers receive gifts, too, sometimes for the very first time. That moment matters. Being seen, valued, and cared for is powerful, particularly for parents who spend so much of themselves caring for others.

Beyond the gifts themselves, the program reinforces something essential: parents are doing important work, and they are not alone.
Our Parenting Educators intentionally weave strength-building into every interaction surrounding the Holiday Adoption Program. Conversations focus on what parents are already doing well, how they nurture connection with their children, and how moments of joy, like shared traditions or simple routines, build resilience within a family. These are not “extras”; they are protective factors that support long-term family stability and well-being.
We often hear parents talk about the pride they feel watching their children light up, but just as often, they share something quieter: relief. Gratitude. A renewed sense of hope. The holidays become less about stress and more about presence, being together, feeling supported, and creating memories that carry forward.
None of this happens without the generosity of our donors.
Because of you, families experience the holidays as a reflection of community care and shared humanity. Your support sends a powerful message: You matter. Your family matters.
Thank you for helping make space for joy, dignity, and connection this season and throughout the year.
