Today on the podcast, Steve talks with Jackie Hester, one of our parenting educators in the Chosen Families program. Jackie gives us a brief overview of Chosen Families, then moves onto her topic, which is the Power of Mistakes.
Jackie introduces us to the concept of the value of mistakes and creating a home environment where mistakes are not only perfectly acceptable, but a deliberate teaching strategy within the home. Finally, she talks about making children comfortable with their feelings about the mistakes that they make.
In her Mission Moment, Jackie focuses again on the Power of Mistakes, with a story about a child who needed to realize that perfection wasn’t expected every time that she drew pictures.
