Positive Discipline is one of the most important topics in parenting, so we are covering it for a second week. Joining us today is Melissa Callejas, a Parenting Educator who specializes in early learning and has a “hands-on” approach when helping parents become more organized, creating fun family activities, or developing healthy habits.

On this episode, she is going to give us tips on how to reframe your mindset around disciplining your children so they can learn and grow through their mistakes. She also explains the importance of establishing expectations, rewards, and consequences based on children’s developmental level and milestones. To balance out a parent’s role in disciplining, she shares types of rewards to help encourage your child’s good behaviors, increase self-esteem and improve your relationship with your child.

After she summarizes positive discipline in Spanish, she shares one of her favorite moments from working with families. Hear as she talks about how her “hands-on” approach taught parents a valuable lesson and helped brighten a family’s Christmas morning.
